From Commerce to QA Engineering

My Story

I'm Sayed Asif, a QA engineer. Before I tested software, I studied commerce.

I earned a Bachelor of Commerce at MVM College (2020–2022). When I test a donation flow, a refund or a payment gateway, I check two things: does every amount add up, and does every transaction end in a state that makes sense?

I moved into testing through QA training at SQUAD Infotech in 2023: manual testing, automation fundamentals and hands-on SQL for preparing and checking test data. Since December 2024 I have worked as a Software QA Engineer at Techno Serve Software Solutions, with a QA Lead title, across six client projects covering donation and payment platforms, CRM and role-based access, and logistics. Day to day it means functional and regression testing, API checks in Postman, defects tracked in Jira, and Playwright automation with Page Objects in GitHub Actions.

Outside work I build public projects so my claims can be checked. The Razorpay one is closest to how I think: Playwright tests for payment signatures, webhooks, duplicate events and refunds, which turned up two high-severity defects. One of them made the app reject every valid webhook. The code, tests and defect log are on GitHub, and the Evidence Library walks through them.

What I care about: a bug report someone can reproduce in two minutes, a test that fails when the product is broken, and saying plainly what I have not tested.
